Willamette Valley Breweries: We’re More Than Great Wine!

It’s known by now that Willamette Valley is an ideal place to grow grapes, but as a matter of fact hops do pretty well out here too. Which translates to some excellent Willamette Valley breweries and hands down some amazing beers. We all love to mix up our beverages from time to time, even hardcore wine people like us will happily drink a hoppy NW IPA or a malty, rich stout.

Our Willamette Valley Bed and Breakfast is right in the heart of Oregon wine country, but we’re also only 10 minutes from downtown McMinnville, which is where you’ll find some the best Willamette Valley breweries, restaurants and night life. Many places are starting to reopen for partial indoor dining, and most have already evolved to offering outdoor dining and take away options.

If you choose to grab to go, it’s just a quick ride back to our Bed and Breakfast, which has ample space for an impromptu beer tasting from Willamette Valley Breweries. Bring lunch back and make a whole picnic for the afternoon. Of course, for those who prefer wine, we’ve got you covered at our Inn with a selection of our Bailey Family Wines and sister label Youngberg Hill.

Let’s toast to a lovely vacation filled with delicious beverages and book your room today!

7 Fantastic Willamette Valley Breweries to Visit Near our B&B

To experience all there is to do in the Willamette Valley, you’ll want to plan a diverse itinerary, which can include tasting a ton of amazing wine, beautiful outdoor adventures and checking out these area Willamette Valley breweries. From dark, malty brews to bright, citrusy IPAs, the whole spectrum of beer can be found here.

  1. Golden Valley Brewery and Restaurant: This is one of the oldest Willamette Valley breweries, coming up soon to its 30 year anniversary in its historic downtown building in McMinnville. Restored giant Doug Fir beams, big cozy booths and a lush patio space make this pub a perfect spot for a pint of their flagship brew Red Thistle Extra Special Bitter. Pair that with one of their handcrafted burgers for lunch.
  2. Evasion Brewing: This brewery’s tasting room is currently still closed, so check the website before you plan, but its gluten free beers are still available for pick up in downtown McMinnville. Order the “Core Beer” trio with a stout, blonde and IPA for a self-guided tasting back at the Inn.
  3. Bierly Brewing: For more gluten free beer and food options, this is one of the Willamette Valley Breweries that is offering weekend only, limited outdoor seating and take away. Get your order in for pick up and head back to the comfort of your guest suite for a fun evening of beer tasting in.
  4. Heater Allen Brewing: This brewery is known for crafting distinctive German and Czech-style lagers. Currently the taproom is closed to the public, but should be reopening by this summer. For now, pick up orders are available or just down the street, you can check out Mac Market for casual lunch fare, Heater Allen beers and much more.
  5. Grain Station Brew Works: This brew pub located in a renovated barn has hearty dishes like pizza, burgers and fish and chips, that all pair nicely with its locally-crafted beers. You’ll find beers all along the spectrum, ranging from light golds to dark stouts. This is one of the Willamette Valley breweries that is dedicated to sustainable farming.
  6. Barn Door Brewing (formerly Deception Brewing): About 20 minutes down the road from our Inn in Dundee, Oregon, this family-owned brewery is making tasty beers like Squeeze the Lemon IPA and Station 3 Imperial Red Ale. The tasting barn is open to sit down for a pint or to take growlers to go.
  7. Wolves & People Farmhouse Brewery: While you’re out in Dundee, make sure to pop by this brewery for a pint of some old-fashioned brews on their huge outdoor beer garden. Oak-fermented hazy pales and saisons, coffee-infused lagers and bourbon barrel-aged stouts are just some of the delightful beers on tap.

Make sure to double check websites and social media pages for the most up to date hours and service options at these Willamette Valley breweries before you head out.
