It has began to cool off. We are working in the vineyard today, dropping fruit, thinning down the amount of fruit hanging on the vines, so that what is left hanging will get more energy coming from the vines to ripen the fruit. The hot weather was a little tough on the young plants, but the old vines seem to take it well.

The guests enjoyed having the air conditioning to come home to the last few days. However, a couple of our guests enjoyed a cooler evening out on the veranda and picniced for dinner last night. We also had our friends, the Methvens over for dinner last night.
