Guests are enjoying another beautiful day on The Hill tasting our estate grown Oregon Pinot Noir. It is always amazing and refreshing to get such wonderful feedback on our wines and how different they are from those they are accustomed to back in there home state. Just as one does not ever see the best Burgundies on retail shelves here in the US, you will also not find many of the best Oregon Pinot Noirs in your local markets. Those wines are often made in such small quantities that either the producer sells it all locally or a distributor is not willing to pick up such a small quantity.
In either case, it is always a great experience to come out to the source where the grapes are grown and the fruit is processed, to get the opportunity to learn more about the great wines of Oregon.
And when you come out, there is no better experience than to stay at Youngberg Hill to watch the grapes grow, learn more about the viticulture, taste in the barrel room, and enjoy the most spectacular views in the valley. And don’t forget the 150 wineries that are within a 20 minute drive of the Inn and the great places to eat in McMinnville.
