Spring is a Perfect Time for McMinnville Wine Tasting/Book Your Stay at our Bed and Breakfast in Willamette Valley

Spring is a time of renewal, awakening, and fresh starts, and as the vines begin to bud, winemakers are already looking forward to the next harvest season. This is also one of the best times to visit the Willamette Valley for a McMinnville wine tasting, especially if you prefer quieter times with fewer crowds and mild weather. Downtown McMinnville is a fantastic destination.

Located just about ten minutes from the city center, Youngberg Hill Winery is a great place to start or finish your McMinnville wine tastings in the Willamette Valley. You’ll enjoy the choice of tasting our two labels, Youngberg Hill and our reserve options from Bailey Family Wines. We offer walk-in tastings, as well as reservation-only seated tastings and private vineyard tours with our winemaker, Wayne Bailey, or one of our knowledgeable wine ambassadors.

Why not take your getaway to the Willamette Valley one step further and make it an overnight or multi-day trip? Our winery is also home to one of the most luxurious bed and breakfasts in the Willamette Valley. With only nine guest rooms, a stay at our B&B feels exclusive—you’ll be steps away from our tasting room and bask in the beautifully appointed suites with absolutely stunning views of the vineyard and valley surrounding our Inn. McMinnville Wine Tasting: Best Places to Visit this Spring

There are so many lovely stops in downtown McMinnville for wine tasting and exploring the bounty of our fantastic pinot noir and other varietals that thrive in the Willamette Valley. Of course, you’ll taste some beautiful pinot while you’re here, but you may be surprized by the variety of delicious wine available.

Here are a few of our favorite places for a McMinnville wine tasting:

  1. Brittan Vineyards: This downtown tasting room is one of our favorites in McMinnville and an exceptional place to sip wine. It’s located in the historic granary district and offers a chance to enjoy an in-depth tasting of their Estate Chardonnay as well as their single-block Pinot noirs.
  2. Goodfellow Family Cellars: For an exclusive tasting and tour of the cellar at this Willamette Valley winery, you’ll want to reach out and set up a private tasting and tour.
  3. R. Stuart & Co. Tasting Room: Located just a few blocks from the winery, this is a fantastic option for McMinnville wine tasting and food pairings. They also have two private options: a winery tour & tasting and seated wine tasting with a guided pinot noir flight.
  4. Troon Vineyard: The wines here are grown in Oregon’s Rouge Valley, where they specialize in crafting wines that thrive in the hot climate of Southern Oregon. This satellite tasting room in McMinnville offers a unique opportunity to break away from the ubiquitous Pinot Noir and sample bigger red wines better suited to warmer conditions, such as cabernet sauvignon and syrah.
  5. Terra Vina: Located on historic Third Street, this intimate tasting room in McMinnville is a great stop as you stroll along this iconic small-town main street. They recently expanded the tasting lounge for indoor and outdoor seating options.

Wine Tasting at Youngberg Hill Winery:

After you’ve enjoyed a downtown McMinnville wine tasting or two, head on back to our bed and breakfast in Willamette Valley for an on-site tasting at Youngberg Hill. While you are here, be sure to take in an unparalleled view of our vineyard, the Eola-Amity mountain range, and beyond that, the Cascades. Spring at Youngberg Hill Winery also means a fresh new year of events and fun gatherings, including our mimosas on Mother’s Day. The tasting room is open 10 am – 4 pm.
