Things to do in McMinnville: Evergreen Aviation Museum

You don’t have to be a history buff to appreciate the impressive exhibits at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville. The sheer scale of these aircraft in the giant hangar is just one of the major draws of this world-class air, space, and military memorabilia collection. In fact, the Evergreen Aviation Museum holds the number one spot on TripAdvisor of all the things to do in this charming city in the Willamette Valley.

The Evergreen Aviation Museum was founded in 1991 and began with a modest collection of vintage aircraft. Today, the museum has more than 50 civilian and military aircraft, drones, and spacecraft. The complex is made up of four expansive buildings. The most popular exhibit is a Hughes H-4 Hercules, also known as the Spruce Goose, a prototype for an airlift flying boat.

From wine tastings and farm-to-table dining to great shopping and outdoor recreation, there are more than enough adventures to fill a long weekend or an extended vacation to the heart of Oregon Wine Country.
